Admission is open to children from all nationalities and religious affiliations between the ages of 6 months and 10 years old, subject only to academic performance and availability or space.

  • CRECHE: 6 months to 1 year old
  • TODDLERS: 1 year to 2 years old
  • PRE-NURSERY: 2 years to 3 years old
  • NURSERY: 3 years to 5 years old
  • PRIMARY: 5 years to 11 years old

Application forms and school prospectus are purchased from the Head Teacher who is available during school hours.
The registration form must be completed and returned before the school will assume the responsibility of caring for your child. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Please inform us immediately of any changes in information provided therein.

Find below a list of documents that you need to submit to Lara Day School before or on your child’s
1st day:

  • i. Copy of bank teller reflecting payment.
  • ii. Completed registration form.
  • iii. Birth Certificate (clear photocopy and original copy for sighting).
  • iv. Immunization Records (For Creche).

Upon the return of the completed application form, entrance tests are conducted for the children in Mathematics and English. Appointments and further enquiries can also be made on phone 07084167000, 01-4542916 and 01-4542920.

The school year that begins in September and ends in July is divided into three terms of about 12 to 13 weeks each.

Normal end of term holidays are observed and this includes all statutory public holidays.

Parents will be informed about specific dates from time to time in advance.

Lara Day School provides education and care across several stages, including Crèche, Toddlers, Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Primary. The admission covers children from 6 months through the primary-school age range, subject to academic performance and availability of space.

Lara Day School provides a child-centred, holistic curriculum designed to develop children academically, socially, creatively, physically and emotionally.

The curriculum includes areas such as English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, ICT, French, Yoruba, Art, Music, Physical Education and Religious Education, with learning designed to encourage problem-solving, collaboration, creativity and independent thinking.

School hours vary according to the section. The school is open between 6:00am to 4:00pm daily:

  • Crèche: approximately 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Pre-Nursery: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Nursery: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Primary: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Lara Day School believes learning goes beyond academics. Pupils participate in a variety of sports, clubs, creative activities, special events and educational experiences.

Activities include football, basketball, table tennis, athletics, swimming, Drama, Arts & Craft, Music, Dance & Movement, Karate, Ballet, Chess, STEM, ICT, Book Club and outdoor learning, among others.

Parents or guardians can obtain and complete the school's registration form and prospectus, then submit the required documentation. The admission process includes an entrance assessment in Mathematics and English for applicable applicants.

Required documents include the completed registration form, proof of payment, birth certificate and, for Crèche applicants, immunization records. Admission remains subject to the school's assessment requirements and availability of space.
